Cleburne was placed in command ol that noUe division, uij‘6 throughout the whole division i there was a (|uict, but perceptible hum of diseatis- \ faction, li u kner was idolized by his command, and the new commander was unknown to them, except ■such as had traced his quiet steps. But soon the division began to feel that they had a man and a General at their head, and when the scenes upon the bloody field of Murfreesboro were enacted, every soldier who saw him upon that bloody field became his enthusia.stic admirer. , His division, the night before the tight, was moved from the extreme right to the extreme left, and he was there ordered to tupport the cobi- luand that was to attack McCook at dajlight. This command was not ejual to the task, and, as _ wc have often heard, by the inefficiency of the commander, there wa.? some confusion in the rank^ Hixt the powerful cotumand of Cleburne, with the general (whose very look would uiake^a coward nc ’ ^ .^larbfie Factory, OKDXOCK DKP.iBTMKM, \ RfLKiOH. >* C.. Bulletin. . , '• to Discover a Murderer hy Photo- An Attemp. ■ ) Journal gives ■yraphy The «■ attempt to discover a the following account oi . murderer by photography: -.i^otographist A few days since Mr. Adams, a ^ '•tleineo of this city, at the Bolicitacion of some gt.. •'*. who hail read of similar experiments in Fran^^, took bis instrument and visited the scene of the Iat€ murder in German town.ship. This was some thirty Kours alter the murdered man had breathed his last. There w"s a great deal of dust Qying and a great crowd collected, which naaterially in terfered with the success of the experiment, but notwithstanding unfavorable circumstances, Mr.# Adams succeeded in taking a tolerably fair “nega tive ” Lpon this he has been experimenting, and we were called on to witness the result of his experiment. He had taken an ambrotype picture of the eye of the deceased, and then rubbing out everything but a single object apparently in the centre of the eye, this was placod under an ordinary mag nifying glass. At the first glance the object ap peared blurred and indistinct, but, getting the proper locus, the outlines of a human face ware at once distinguishable. The image was appar ently the face of a man with unu«ually prominent cheek bones, long nose, and rather broad forehead. A black moustache was plainly seen, and also the direction of the eyes, which seemed to b« lookin" at soale object sidewise. One of the eyes was as olcarly seen as the eyes in a common ambrotype or ffcUotype. ' Mr. Atiams is continuing his experiments; but whether he will .«ucceed in making any clearer developments remains to b« seen. His labors . thu-t far are abundantly rewarded by the success which has attended his etforLs, as it seems to us he has demonsfraf- d tiiat an object wa.s pictured upon the eye ol .'Ir. Herke at the time of his d. atlf, and that the object was a human face. Similar experimcnt.s, w- are informed, have been made in France with yreat .success, and mys- teriou.■^ murders uuravelled through the instru mentality ol i>aguerre’s wonderful art. Notwith standing we had h?ard of tiiesc strange things, we were stiil under the impression that “dead tneu tell tio t Ics, ' until a recent exp«riment has shaken our taith and almotit convinccd us that dead men may ye; speak. %VAATED, VOU'^O r.KNT' F,MAN who *ias a very gO'i.l un ler- L'lt'n, Grc-'k and Enelish Iinpu\gr“S, p :ua’ion ■« T«*sobe”. .\ddresi^ G VT.
